February 2004
Midwest Scuba in St. Charles, Missouri, will be hosting a PSI (Professional Scuba Inspectors) visual cylinder inspector course Sunday, February 8, 2004, in our classroom from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mr. Ed Kasten, Director of Training for PSI, will be traveling from Denver to instruct the course.
This certification course teaches the basics of conducting the annual visual inspections of solid wall and composite SCUBA and SCBA cylinders. The course is suited for those new to visual inspections as well as those who have been inspecting without formal training. Additionally, this course meets the OSHA and DOT requirements for employee HAZMAT training and, attendants completing the course are qualified to conduct “in-house” HAZMAT training for cylinder handlers.
The course is open to anyone 16 years or older and no previous cylinder inspection experience is required. Participants receive certification as Visual Cylinder Inspectors upon course completion.
Cost is $225 per person. If you are already a PSI inspector and simply need recertification, the update will run you $195. Attached is the PSI flier that includes more detailed information. Contact me directly at Midwest Scuba to sign-up. If you have any course related questions or have questions about getting recertified, please feel free to contact Ed directly at 303-810-6127.
